WOMEN IN THE TRADES: FIX NETWORK CO-HOSTS TRAINING EVENT
Fix Network Canada co-hosted a Young Women in Trades and Technology event at its Calgary Training Centre, introducing high school students to automotive refinishing. Developed with Careers: The Next Generation, the session gave students hands-on experience with basecoat, airbrush stencil work and clearcoat application. Participants learned paint gun technique, refinishing fundamentals and shop safety procedures while working alongside female Red Seal technicians. Organizers said interest was strong enough to nearly support a second session. “This enthusiastic interest is incredibly encouraging,” said Jeff Francis, technical trainer at Fix Network Canada’s Calgary Training Centre.

TECHTALK360 WEBINAR: DOCUMENT EVERY DIAGNOSTIC STEP CORRECTLY
Collision repair facilities are increasingly being required to document and justify every diagnostic and calibration procedure performed on modern vehicles, according to speakers during an April 29 TechTalk360 webinar hosted by AirPro Diagnostics. Danny Gredinberg, administrator of the Database Enhancement Gateway and training facilitator with Collision Advice, joined Jordan Hendler, manager of the Collision Industry Conference and executive director of the Washington Metropolitan Auto Body Association, and George Avery, past chair of the Collision Industry Conference, to examine reimbursement disputes tied to inaccurate labour times and increasingly complex ADAS calibrations. “Documentation is the key for the conversation, but also to get reimbursed for the work that you’re doing,” said Gredinberg.
