Registration is now open for the Autobody and Collision Damage Repairer 310B Pre-Apprenticeship L-1 Program, a 30-week training pathway designed to move participants into full apprenticeship opportunities in the collision repair sector.
The tuition-free program, funded by the Government of Ontario, is delivered through Centennial College and combines classroom instruction, hands-on technical training and paid industry placement.
The structure begins with five weeks of academic upgrading at Centennial College’s Progress Campus, followed by 12 weeks of Level 1 apprenticeship training at the Ashtonbee Campus. Participants then complete a 12-week paid work placement at a collision repair facility from September to November.
The program is positioned as a stepping-stone into careers such as autobody and collision technician apprentice, auto collision damage estimator, service advisor or parts technician apprentice. Participants receive a free toolkit, course materials and a TTC PRESTO card during the in-class portion. There is also an opportunity to earn the Tropicana Student Success Scholarship.
Applicants must be between 18 and 30 years old, legally entitled to work in Canada and hold a Social Insurance Number. A high school diploma, equivalency certificate or OSSD is required along with a resume that includes volunteer experience and three non-relative references.
Successful applicants must also provide a valid driver’s licence and SIN card before the program begins.
Applications are being accepted now. Prospective participants seeking guidance on eligibility or career pathways can register through Tropicana’s Employment Centre to connect with an employment counsellor for job search support and program information.
