Washington, D.C. — United States President Joe Biden has shown his support of the ‘Right to Repair’ campaign by signing an executive order late last week that would prohibit anti-competitive restrictions that prohibit consumers freedoms when it comes to their data and repairing their vehicle where they want to.
President of the Auto Care Association, Bill Hanvey, says that he is happy to see the government finally noticing the automotive industry’s efforts behind the ‘Right to Repair’ campaign.
“It is heartening to see that the right to repair efforts that Auto Care Association has been pressing for over the last two decades are now gaining traction in the federal government. We urge the administration and the FTC to take strong actions in order to reduce anti-competitive barriers to repair for our industry so that we can continue to service our customer’s vehicles.”
