Benz, but don’t Break: Mercedes-Benz drops to third most sold luxury brand in U.S.

Atlanta, Georgia – Mercedes-Benz appears to be starting a slip from the mountaintop of luxury vehicle sales as according to a recent report from Stock Apps, the German automaker continues to decline on the sales floor, in the U.S.

The report indicates that Mercedes-Benz’s 274,916 units sold this year marks a 13 percent decline when compared to sales numbers from 2019.

The company’s saving grace; the GLC SUV, Mercedes’ top-seller for the year, made up 52,626 units of the overall sales number.

Topping out the report for luxury sales numbers was Mercedes’ German counterpart, BMW, who closed the year with 278,732 units sold, also boasting an SUV in the X3 as their top-selling model, despite an overall 17.5 drop in sales from the previous year.

Lexus narrowly took the second spot from Mercedes, as well, by a margin of only 125 units sold.

The full report can be found here.
