Axalta announces SEMA celebrity lineup

Las Vegas, Nevada — November 3, 2014 — Axalta has released the details of their 2014 SEMA Show celebrity lineup.

Industry personalities—such as motorsports champions, TV hosts, lowrider artists, custom car painters, builders, and pinstripers—are set to showcase the manufacturer’s global brands at the Las Vegas Convention Center from Nov. 4 to Nov. 7.

Among the highlights is the re-painting of a 2010 Challenger SRT8 by first-timer celebrity painters, taking place in Axalta’s outdoor spray booth. Lowrider artists will then finish the job, creating a steel canvas of original automotive art.

Scheduled press conferences, autograph sessions and pinstriping demos will take place at the manufacturer’s indoor booth—22391.

The detailed lineup includes:

  • Danny Taylor – Nov. 4 to Nov. 7 – Pinstripe Masters at Work
    The custom design artist, formerly of Taylor’s House of Color, has spent close to 39 years in the field. His work has been showcased approximately 350 times in national magazines and has graced 63 covers.
     
  • Paul Quinn – Nov 4. to Nov. 7 – Pinstripe Masters at Work
    The airbrush and pinstriping artist and custom paint instructor has won four Top Gun Hot Hues awards, has been featured on Speed Channel’s Unique Whips and penned numerous “how-to” articles in several trade magazines.
     
  • Clarence Barnes – Nov. 4 from 3 to 5 p.m. – Celebrity Car Painting
    Barnes is a TV host, actor, news anchor, weathercaster, entertainment reporter, precision driver, car enthusiast and a former record label executive for Arista, Chrysalis, MCA and Elektra Records.
     
  • Rachel De Barros – Nov. 4 from 3 to 5 p.m. – Celebrity Car Painting
    De Barros is the chief marketing officer, host and executive producer of Gearhead Diva, the DIY car building community and network airing edu-tainment-style videos for today’s social-minded generation.
     
  • Cherielynn Westrich – Nov. 4 from 3 to 5 p.m. – Celebrity Car Painting
    Known as a car builder on TLC’s Overhaulin’, Cherielynn is the owner of the California-based Maven Associated, where she restores and builds muscle cars and hot rods.
     
  • Ray Evernham – Nov. 5 at 10:30 a.m. – Axalta’s Color Splash Reveal
    The three-time NASCAR Cup champion crew chief and host of Velocity’s AmeriCarna started working on short track race cars at age 15 and never looked back.
     
  • Jeff Gordon – Nov. 5 at 10:30 a.m. – Axalta’s Color Splash Reveal
    The driver of the No. 24 Axalta Chevrolet SS for Hendrick Motorsports, is a four-time NASCAR Cup Series champion, a three-time Daytona 500 winner and the only five-time winner of the Brickyard 400. His 92 career victories rank third all-time.
     
  • Mobsteel – Nov. 5 from 1 to 3 p.m. – Mobsteel Autograph Session
    The Mobsteel crew from Detroit is infamous for starting with “Detroit’s finest vintage luxury cars and turning them into modern day menacing street machines.”
     
  • Danny Galvez (“Danny D”) – Nov. 5 from 2 to 5 p.m. – Custom Car Painting Autograph session on Nov. 6 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
    Southern California lowrider enthusiasts know the custom automotive painter and pinstriper  as “Danny D.” He is joined by crew members Efrain “Bugs” Gonzales and Manny Cisneros.

Attendees are welcome to receive a complimentary raffle ticket at Axalta’s indoor booth on Nov. 4 for a chance to meet Jeff Gordon and Ray Evernham. The winner will be drawn on Nov. 4 at 3 p.m., with the meet and greet set to follow a Nov. 5 announcement.
