Autumn Accumulations: Toyota and dealers raise over $900,000 for Canadian food bank donations

Toronto, Ontario – Toyota Canada and its dealers donated more than $900,000 to local food banks across the country this month.

In a recent news release, the automaker said that food banks are seeing a notable increase in numbers, but are struggling to meet the current demand.

“Having food on the table is something many of us take for granted, but too many Canadians are struggling to make this happen,” said John Attrell, Dealer Principal at Attrell Toyota.

Over the past few years dealers have shown a commitment to tackling this issue within their community, said Cyril Dimitris, Toyota Canada’s Vice President of Sales and Marketing. “With food banks having a critical role in ensuring all Canadians have enough to eat, we’re furthering the impact of our dealers’ contribution with our corporate donation.”

The $900,000 donation is a combined total for both the OEM and its dealers, and will be made to various local food banks throughout Canada.

Specifically, part of the funds will also go towards provincial food banks such as: Food Banks B.C., Food Banks Alberta, Food Banks Saskatchewan, Harvest Manitoba, Feed Ontario and Food Banks of Quebec.
