A Spiny Situation: Iguana mistakenly shipped to Ford plant continues to thrive at Detroit Zoo

Detroit, Michigan — Ford Authority recently reported that an iguana mistakenly delivered to the Ford plant in Detroit, Michigan way back in 2010, is reportedly still doing well at its home at the Detroit Zoo.

The spiny-tailed iguana erroneously shipped to the Ford plant is just one thing on a long list of strange things that the automaker has received in the mail over the years. This list reportedly includes everything from missent postcards to illegal substances—and of course, the iguana.

Ford Authority further notes that it’s unclear which Ford plant originally accidentally took delivery of the iguana, but the Detroit Zoo recently reported that despite the mishap, the iguana is today, doing much better in the zoo than he ever would have working on the automaker’s manufacturing floor.
