In Memoriam: Jeff Silver, I-CAR leader responsible for Canadian expansion, dies

Toronto, Ontario — The American and Canadian collision repair communities are saddened to hear about the passing of Jeff Silver, who died on Friday at the age of 80.

According to John Van Alstyne, CEO of I-CAR, Jeff was a pioneer for education in the collision repair industry and helped expand the company into Canada and New Zealand.

On a Facebook post, I-CAR mourns the passing of their former CEO, recalling his “passion for educational standards across the inter-industry” and his “comradery and guidance throughout the year.”

Colleagues and family members described him as a man gifted in finding common ground with almost anyone, combined with his caring, welcoming demeanour.

“Jeff was my rock, best friend and soulmate. He was beloved by so many people who enjoyed his wit and intelligence,” wrote his wife, Jeanne Silver. She writes that a celebration of life is planned in Chicago, with details to come.
