Windsor, Ontario — July 2, 2015 — Windsor Global news reports that a fire at a commercial building in the city earlier this week centered on a collision repair centre.
The blaze at 1306 Crawford in Windsor, Ontario, did serious damage to N&G Auto Body and Paint. Officials estimate the blaze caused $120,000 worth of damage. The damage at an adjacent building is estimated at $5,000.
The Windsor Star reports that the fire started in a car located in the collision repair facility.
“There’s always the risk from the car itself and the contents of an auto shop, chemicals,” Andrea DeJong, spokeswoman for the Windsor Fire Service, was quoted as saying. “They got it under control really quickly.”
The call came in around 11 a.m. on Tuesday. The building was evacuated and there are no reported injuries.
