Windsor, Ontario — A good time knows no age—unfortunately neither does the law, as a 64-year-old Windsor man is facing a dangerous charge after he was caught doing donuts on a frozen pond at Malden Park.
Windsor police began receiving reports around 3 p.m. on Saturday afternoon of a vehicle driving erratically and doing donuts on the pond of a local park.
An off-duty Windsor police officer was among the first to call in about the driver and record the vehicle’s license plate and its description.
By the time officers arrived, the driver had already left the park, but was located at the 2000 block of Huron Church Road where he was arrested and his vehicle was seized.
Dangerous driving comes with a minimum $400 fine (maximum $2,000) in Ontario. This could alternatively be considered the cost to host an impromptu drift car demonstration in a public park—perspective is key.
