Winnipeg, Manitoba -- The Manitoba chapter of Resource Organization for Women in Collision (ROWC) hosted its second annual golf tournament on Sunday, Sept. 14, at Shooters Family Golf Centre.
The tournament reached full capacity, drawing 45 women from across the collision repair sector. Participants represented Manitoba Public Insurance, multi-shop operators, dealerships and independent repair facilities. Roles included technicians, managers, executives and shop owners.
“The highlight wasn’t about the golf — it was the energy all these fabulous women brought with them,” said Renee Sicotte, a ROWC co-founder. “Many who had never met came together and instantly clicked. You could see mentorships beginning, friendships blossoming and a collective pride in being part of something bigger than oneself. That spark of unity and empowerment was the true highlight of the day.”
Sponsorship ensured that all golfer fees were covered. ACX stepped in as the Platinum Plus sponsor, while the Birchwood Group supported the day as the Platinum sponsor by providing lunch. Crown Auto Group and Enterprise joined as Gold sponsors, with BASF serving as the Silver sponsor. Bronze sponsorship came from Boyd Auto Group, Color Compass Corporation, Fairway Ford, Gauthier Auto Group, and PPG together with FinishMaster.
Additional backing was provided by a wide range of hole sponsors and donors, including 3M, Aimes, APT, Catton’s, CMAX, DORMER, Eastside Group, Gateway Autobody, Go Auto Haus, Harvest Honda, LKQ, Marion Auto Body and Glass, McNaught Cadillac Buick, Murray Jeep Ram, Paint FX, Performance Radiator, Piston Ring Service, St Claude Autobody, Town Car Rental and Udrive Car Rental.
“The sense of belonging is extremely important in an industry where women are often underrepresented,” Sicotte said. “Since forming in February 2024, MB ROWC has held five meet-and-mingle events and two golf tournaments. Our mission is to create a space where we can share ideas, learn from others, offer mentorship and collaborate to solve industry challenges.”
She added that the tournament reflects ROWC’s broader mission to empower, support and advance women in the collision repair industry. “It’s not about golf — it’s about connection, awareness and camaraderie. Looking ahead, we hope to see the tournament grow into a signature event that unites the industry around shared values of inclusion, innovation and continuous learning.”
