Toronto, Ontario -- China's largest annual automotive aftermarket conference is underway.
On November 26, Automechanika Shanghai 2025 opened with a record 7,465 exhibitors from 44 countries and regions. Organizers say exhibitor numbers are up 10 percent and the show now covers 383,000 square metres, using all 15 halls of the National Exhibition and Convention Center in Shanghai for the first time.
A CEO summit held yesterday set the stage for four days of exhibits and meetings. Industry leaders used the conference to outline current conditions in the global automotive sector and to discuss where investment is heading.
This year’s show puts strong focus on new energy and connectivity. Around 40 percent of exhibitors are showing products in these areas. The dedicated zone has grown by 50 percent and includes about 30 first-time exhibitors. Technologies on display range from chips and driver assistance systems to chassis components, powertrain controllers and related software.
Major vehicle makers at the fair include Chery Holding, GAC Aion, Li Auto, Qingling Motors and Tesla. They are joined by a wide range of Chinese and overseas suppliers showing parts, tyres and wheels, electronics, workshop equipment, accessories and digital services.
According to organizers, there are 15 national and regional pavilions that will host exhibitors from countries including Germany, Italy, Korea, Singapore and Turkey. Organisers say visitor registrations are up 25 percent, with buyers coming from nearly 160 countries and regions. Some 261 buyer groups representing about 24,000 visitors are expected.
Automechanika Shanghai runs from November 26 to 29.
