Nissan Canada Certified as a Great Place to Work® for the Third Year in a Row

Great Place to Work® certification recognizes positive workplace culture, as well as trust in the leadership team

MISSISSAUGA, Ontario–(BUSINESS WIRE)–For the third year in a row, Nissan Canada Inc. is proud to announce it has been certified as a Great Place to Work®, following an anonymous employee survey and a thorough and independent analysis conducted by Great Place to Work® Canada.

“I am thrilled that Nissan Canada has been certified as a Great Place to Work again,” says Steve Milette, president, Nissan Canada Inc. “We continuously strive to create a work culture that is founded on trust and transparency, providing a collaboration-focused environment to truly operate as one-team transcending across all departments, cultures and demographics. I am very proud to lead such a strong and dedicated team, and honoured to accept this recognition on behalf of Nissan Canada.”

Nancy Fonseca, Senior Vice President of Great Place to Work® Canada, says that a great workplace is about the level of trust that employees experience in their leaders, the level of pride they have in their jobs, and the extent to which they enjoy their colleagues. “Our data shows that great workplaces benefit from stronger financial performance, reduced turnover, and better customer satisfaction than their peers. What’s more, work environments with trust at the foundation are ripe for innovation, agility, resilience and efficiency,” Fonseca said.

Nissan Canada Inc. received the Great Place to Work certification for the first time in 2019–the company’s first year participating–and then again in 2020. In 2021, Nissan Canada Inc.’s leadership team continued to build on the momentum and success of the previous years by focusing on three main areas: encouraging teamwork and collaboration; celebrating special events to create a friendly and welcoming culture; and thanking to create more opportunities for special recognition as well as appreciation for all the employees’ great work and extra commitments.

Nissan Canada Inc. is committed to continuous improvement in the dimensions of fairness and inclusion, as well as camaraderie – having received high scores in previous years. This commitment is reflective of its welcoming, friendly and fair workplace where employees’ diverse perspectives are listened to, respected and valued, and where diversity and equality are at the heart of its collective success.

Nissan Canada Inc. accomplished this level of success by focusing on cross-functional teams organizing a variety of diverse events, more learning and development opportunities and exciting recognition incorporating feedback from employees on a regular basis. These efforts were added to the several employee-led initiatives implemented during the pandemic to empower employees to innovate and work autonomously toward cultural transformation.

Being certified as a Great Place to Work® reinforces Nissan Canada’s brand reputation as an attractive employer, where talents come to develop and grow. We hope to continue to build trust, camaraderie, and pride in Nissan Canada.
