ICBC’s towing and storage program, planned to roll out this month, has been put on hold due to the ongoing municipal elections in B.C.
“At this time, a new implementation date has not been set. However, we remain focused on delivering this initiative in a timely manner and will keep you updated by email,” Gary Khakh, towing & storage program advisor at ICBC wrote in the latest update.
According to the release, the ICBC is creating a formal towing and storage program that will serve as the foundational service and compensation model between the ICBC and its tow suppliers. IAA Tow Suite to improve how tow dispatches, photo requests, and invoices are managed. Tow Suite will include both a web-based desktop program for office workers and a mobile app for those out on the road.
These changes will significantly change workflow, especially for tow drivers. Following the launch of this program, tow drivers will get dispatches, upload photos through the Insurance Insurance Auto Auctions tow app. Invoices can also be submitted through the web-based desktop program Tow Console. These changes will not decrease pay for service providers or interrupt any scheduled increase. Service providers will not be held responsible for delays outside of their control.
Service providers can learn how to use Tow Suite through online learning modules, which were released this past September. For technical support and any challenges with the program that may come up, each location has been assigned a representative, available Monday - Friday from 6 a.m. - 5 p.m. PST who can be reached at [email protected].
