Lay of the Land: AIA releases report on dealer sales landscape

aia

Toronto, Ontario — AIA’s new dealer landscape report gives collision shops a sneak peek at what vehicles are on their way to your repair bay.

The Automotive Industry Association of Canada’s (AIA) “New Car Dealer Landscape 2021” report delves into the current vehicle sales environment and looks forward to emerging trends in the used vehicle industry.

“Aftermarket businesses benefit from knowing the number of new car dealerships and volume of new vehicle sales,” wrote AIA in the report’s introduction.

“It helps them understand what types of vehicles will be coming their way for repair, service, and maintenance in the years to come. The trends that impact the dealer network are also closely linked with those of aftermarket businesses.”

The report tackles nine challenges that the automotive aftermarket must address in the coming years:

  • Vehicle Electrification
  • New and Non-Traditional Competition
  • Digitalization of Operations
  • Alternatives to Vehicle Ownership
  • Business Consolidation
  • OEM Obligations
  • Economic Trends
  • Climate Change Response
  • Autonomous Technology

The report is available at no charge for members, and $249 for non-members.
