Toronto, Ontario — January 22, 2016 — The new Honda Civic will utilize more high-strength steel in 2016. The use of the new lightweight metals demands technicians require some consideration of new repair procedures. Chris Hogg, Business Planning Specialist with the APB & Honda Collision Advantage Program, notes that Honda Canada has published information specific to the 2016 Honda Civic that repairers should review before attempting any repairs to these vehicles.

The new bulletin from Honda Canada contains a summary of new body and technology that may affect collision repairs. Among the most important bit of news to note: The 2016 Honda Civic uses a 1,500 MPa steel rear frame, aluminum front bumper beam and resin composite front bulkhead.
