AutoHouse Technologies 2021 Canadian Benchmark Report: Touch Time

Vancouver, British Columbia ⁠— AutoHouse Technologies has released its 2021 Canadian Benchmark Report for the collision repair industry, where the company details sales, gross profit trends, cycle times and touch times for the Canadian autobody sector last year.

Last week, Collision Repair magazine covered sales, gross profit trends and cycle time. Today, we cover AutoHouse’s data for touch time in collision repair centres across Canada.

Nationwide, the average touch time was 2.8 hours per day⁠—up 0.1 hours from 2020. 

AutoHouse also separated data by manufacturer origin: touch times on domestic builds and Asian vehicles saw an average touch time of 2.8 hours per day, while European make touch times sat at 2.5 hours per day, on average. 

In 2021, Western Canada’s average touch time was 2.6 hours per day (up 0.1 hours from 2020) and, in Eastern Canada, 2.9 hours per day (up 0.1 hours from 2020). 

The top 10 percent of performers tout touch times of 4.2 hours per day, says AutoHouse.
