GEICO’s Associate-Led Effort Drives More Than $28,000 in Community Donations in Long Island

Company also filling 2,000 positions countrywide

WOODBURY, N.Y.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–#GEICOCares–As part of an associate-led effort, GEICO is donating more than $350,000 to charities across the country. From coast-to-coast, GEICO associates nominated non-profit organizations and projects for making a positive impact on their communities. More than 100 organizations were awarded donations.

“Our associates told us what was important to them, and we listened,” said GEICO Chief Human Resource Officer Rick Hoagland. “I’ve been touched by the passion GEICO associates show for helping their communities. We are happy to support the wonderful work these organizations are doing.”

In the NY metro area, GEICO granted more than $28,000 in total donations to the following organizations, among others:

  • Ronald McDonald House Charities New York Metro
  • Pal-O-Mine Equestrian Inc.
  • Matthew Fetzer Foundation
  • United Cerebral Palsy Association of Nassau County Inc.
  • Ali Forney Center
  • Cystic Fibrosis Foundation – Long Island Chapter
  • National Brain Tumor Society
