EIN Raises Awareness of the Hydrogen-Powered Future; Helps Curate VX H2 Super Track Sessions at VerdeXchange 23

LOS ANGELES–(BUSINESS WIRE)–#EIN–Last week, Energy Independence Now (EIN), an environmental nonprofit dedicated to advancing renewable hydrogen infrastructure for transportation, renewable energy storage, and deep decarbonization, teamed with the organizers of the VerdeXchange 23 conference to curate the event’s second annual “VX H2 Super Track,” designed to share the latest policies, innovations, and learnings in hydrogen energy.

Overseen by EIN’s Executive Director, Brian Goldstein, the VX H2 Super Track full day slate of programming featured a selection of H2 thought leaders and guest panelists. Representatives from Toyota (makers of the Mirai, a groundbreaking hydrogen fuel cell powered car, which was on display at the entrance of the Omni Hotel Downtown, where the event was held); the Japan Hydrogen Forum; SoCal Gas; the County of Hawaii; the City of Lancaster; and many more participated in the Tuesday, May 2nd program. Goldstein also moderated and participated in multiple panels throughout the day.

The annual VerdeXchange conference offers leaders in the energy, water, mobility, finance, ocean technology, and built environment sectors the opportunity to share innovations, form partnerships, and capitalize on the growth of the economy of the 21st century.

On Wednesday, VerdeXchange and EIN welcomed invited guests on board the Sir Winston for a guided discussion and tour of the Port of Los Angeles and Port of Long Beach, which included ocean views of the AltaSea campus at San Pedro. Welcoming remarks were made by LA City Councilmember, Tim McOsker and Executive Director of the Port of Los Angeles, Gene Seroka.

“If we are to effectively meet emission reduction goals, especially in carbon-intense areas like the port complex in Los Angeles, governmental and private investments in H2 innovation are critical,” said Goldstein. “It was gratifying to see so many thought leaders, influencers and innovation-driven organizations at VerdeXchange this year to participate in the hydrogen dialogue and explore the solutions with us. Not only will hydrogen reduce our carbon footprint and help mitigate the effects of climate change, but it will also improve air quality and create a healthier society for current and future generations.”
