What began as a dream carried across an ocean has grown into one of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario’s most trusted automotive repair institutions. Founded by Gaetano “Guy” Ianelli, Guy’s B&R Collision Centre stands today as a testament to hard work, family unity, and an unwavering commitment to excellence.
Born on May 23, 1939, Gaetano arrived in Canada at just 16 years old with little more than the clothes on his back and a determination to build a better life. After several early partnership ventures in the auto body industry, Guy took a defining leap of faith in 1980, putting his family and future on the line to open his own shop — then known as Guy’s Auto Body. That leap paid off. More than three decades later, the business has grown from a modest operation into the largest collision repair facility in the city, with expanded operations and complementary businesses supporting its success.
Integral to that growth were Guy’s three sons—Robert, Dennis, and Nello—each of whom began working in the shop as young as 13 years old. From the outset, they played hands-on roles in shaping the business. Each brother brought distinct strengths and personality to the operation, adding energy and innovation to the daily grind while building lasting relationships with customers. Their combined efforts helped transform a small family shop into an industry leader.
Today, Guy’s B&R Collision Centre operates from its expanded location at 1044 Great Northern Road, reflecting its ongoing investment in advanced technology, innovative repair methods, and customer care. As a member of CSN Collision Repair, the centre works with more than 20 insurance companies and is among the top referred auto body repair facilities in the Sault.
Equally important is the people behind the work. A dedicated team of 14 skilled professionals forms the backbone of the operation, delivering quality workmanship with confidence, trust, and integrity. Environmental responsibility also plays a key role, with recycled solvents, waterborne paints, and sustainable waste practices helping reduce the shop’s environmental footprint.
From humble beginnings to industry leadership, Guy’s B&R Collision Centre remains a family-built business—driven by pride, precision, and a deep appreciation for the community it serves.
