CARSTAR Medicine Hat celebrates one year anniversary

Medicine Hat, Alberta — April 23rd, 2014 — The team at CARSTAR Medicine Hat kicked off spring with their one year anniversary in early April. Over 160 guests including local insurance partners, vendor partners and corporate staff came out to congratulate owners Bruce Hemstreet and Trevor Jones and their team at their second location in Alberta. Hemstreet and Jones were previously profiled in the January 2012 edition of Collision Repair magazine. 

 

The owners of CARSTAR Lethbridge opened this second location in January of 2013 and had planned a grand opening event last fall. The team unfortunately met some setbacks with the flooding in southern Alberta last summer and several hail storms that affected collision centres in the province.

 

 â€œWe were so busy that we had to hold off on the grand opening and it got pushed back until eventually we were celebrating one year in business,” says Bruce Hemstreet. 

 

The team of eight employees at CARSTAR Medicine Hat were so busy in their first year, that up until the change of season, they had not been able to hold an event in their community.

 

“We were still able to work with our Lethbridge location to give back to both communities with donations to Cystic Fibrosis Canada and the Canadian Red Cross,” says Hemstreet. 

 

The anniversary event saw the team and guests collecting canned goods and raising close to $750 in cash donations for the local food bank. The event demonstrated the same level of support that CARSTAR Medicine Hat has received from local and national partners over the past year.

 

Hemstreet also spoke of future growth as a CARSTAR Multi-Store Owner adding, “With our first year being successful, the goal for the future is to keep looking for other opportunities to grow in Southern Alberta.”
