Toronto, Ontario -- Martech Services Co. is introducing a waterborne breathable-air combo system designed to give refinishers cleaner and drier air as waterborne coatings become more common across North America.
The Model 50-WB builds on the company’s Model 50 breathing-air system but adds technology to lower dew point and relative humidity for paint applications that rely on ultra-dry air.
Tom Wright, the company’s director of sales and marketing, said: “the Model 50-WB has all the features of a Quality Air Breathing System, Model 50 series system, plus the additional ability to lower the dew point and relative humidity for spraying waterborne paints.... it only makes sense that if the air is safe for breathing air, then it would be superior sprayable air. Add to that, a way to lower the dew point and the relative humidity and you have a complete combo system.”
The system is designed to help shops meet OSHA requirements for supplied-air respiratory protection while also delivering ultra-clean and ultra-dry spray air from the same unit. It can process up to 50 standard cubic feet per minute of breathable air or 35 standard cubic feet per minute of ultra-dry spray air, in any combination within those limits.
The Model 50-WB connects to an existing compressed-air source and is engineered to filter and monitor the air supply for Grade D breathing-air quality while also producing ultra-dry air for waterborne or solvent coatings. It supports two painters at once and is also available in an 80-standard-cubic-feet-per-minute configuration.
