Community Giving: Collision centre raises $25,000 for Muskoka hospital

Toronto, Ontario -- Colorworks Express Autobody has made a $25,000 donation to the Huntsville Hospital Foundation, joining the foundation’s Business Cares Program, according to a statement published by the foundation.

The Huntsville-based bodyshop committed the funds as part of the Business Cares initiative, which raises private-sector support for medical equipment, technology and patient care at Huntsville Hospital.

In a post published on its Facebook page, the Huntsville Hospital Foundation said Colorworks Express Autobody had joined the Business Cares Program with a $25,000 donation that would help ensure the hospital has access to advanced medical equipment and technology to support patient care across Muskoka.

The foundation’s chief executive officer Katherine Craine said in the post that Colorworks had “committed to making a positive impact within our community” and welcomed the company to the Business Cares Program.

The post also included comments from owner Keith Oben, who said the donation was rooted in the company’s connection to the local health system and the support it has received from the community. “Colorworks believes deeply in social responsibility and that when we’re supported, we want to share,” Oben said, adding that local clients had made the contribution possible.

Ken Oben, identified in the post as Keith Oben’s father, described the Business Cares Program as a way to support the broader community, saying the foundation provides an avenue to help ensure health-care teams have the tools they need.

Colorworks Express Autobody did not respond to a request for comment before publication.
