Burnaby, British Columbia — August 17, 2015 — A Burnaby, BC-area collision repair facility experienced a serious fire this past weekend.

About 40 firefighters were called to False Creek Collision on Royal Oak Ave. a little after 4:00 a.m. on Sunday morning. Part of the collision repair facility was on fire. A shed at the back of the building was gutted and there seemed to be some smoke damage to the main building.

Investigators believe someone must have sparked the fire in the shed. Assistant Burnaby Fire Chief David Graystone has stated that the the fire appears to be caused by a person, but investigators with the Burnaby Fire Department and Burnaby RCMP will determine if it was accidentally or deliberately set.

Firefighters say the damage could have been much worse as there were several pieces of heavy equipment inside the shed.
