House of Kolor has introduced eight new colours to mark the conclusion of its yearlong 70th anniversary celebration, with four shades named by members of the custom automotive community.
The custom paint brand selected four names internally, while inviting custom artists, builders and enthusiasts to submit suggestions for the remaining four through Facebook and Instagram. The initiative gave the brand’s “kustom krew” an opportunity to contribute to its anniversary collection.
“House of Kolor has always been fueled by the creativity of the custom community,” says Tom Smith, national warehouse distributor sales manager at House of Kolor. “Inviting that community to help name these anniversary kolors was a fitting way to celebrate our legacy and finish this milestone year together.”
The eight-colour collection features a range of finishes and hues, including Kozality, a deep green with hints of midnight; High Tide, an electric blue-purple; Traffik Light, a bright green; and Sunglo, a golden yellow.
The four community-named colours are Raven’s Wing, a deep purple named by Blake Winters; Kosmic Forest, a bold green named by Richard Wilmot; Celestial Switch, a vibrant pink-purple named by Steven Carrillo; and Bordeaux Glow, a rich wine shade named by Shelley Molea.
Founded in 1956, House of Kolor marked its 70th anniversary with a year of activities celebrating the artists, innovators and enthusiasts who have shaped the brand’s history. The celebrations included storytelling videos featuring founder Jon Kosmoski, brand team members and longtime customers, as well as a custom giveaway and exclusive merchandise releases.
The anniversary collection closes out the milestone year while highlighting the custom community’s role in the brand’s identity.
