Toronto, Ontario — June 24, 2019 – BASF is proud to announce their sponsorship in the international Sustainability Week Conference that begins June 24.
This is the 9th Sustainability Week Conference hosted by Alive2Green, this year collaborating with 2nd Sustainable Cities Southern Africa Conference. The key focus of this year’s conference is to highlight the urgent need to work on climate change and human health alongside economic and employment development.
BASF has been recognized for their dedication to sustainability and eco-friendly practices as they recently won an award for sustainable development for their line of product eSense, a paint that saves both fossil fuels and CO2 emissions.
They are also a founding member of the Global Alliance to End Plastic Waste.
“Climate change is one of the main challenges for society and BASF has been innovating in this field for many years,” stated Thierry Herning, head of BASF France earlier this month.
“Energy efficiency and the use of renewable resources are key levers to combine climate protection, conservation of resources and economic benefits.”
According to BASF, the key purpose of the event is for, “leaders, industry experts, government authorities and civil society to converge in Pretoria, South Africa and share ideas and best practices regarding the sustainability of our environment and how we can work together to preserve it for generations to come.”
