Acura recalls more than 360,000 SUVs

By CRM Staff

Toronto, Ontario — April 5, 2018 — Acura, Honda’s luxury automaker, is recalling more than 360,000 SUVs worldwide due to concerns over water getting into the tail lights and making them go dark.

The recall primarily concerns North America and covers MDX models from 2014 to 2019.

Acura stated that due to a manufacturing problem, water can get into assemblies through some seals and cause electrical problems that could potentially shut off the tailgates lights and some interior lighting.

The manufacturer says it hasn’t received any reports of crashes or injuries.

Dealers will replace the seals on the vehicles and if necessary install new light assemblies and wiring.

Owners will be notified in early May.
