Most Important Meal: $32,000 raised for Breakfast Club by UniglassPlus and VitroPlus

Hamilton, Ontario – On Jan. 27, Driven Brands announced that two of their subsidiary companies, UniglassPlus and VitroPlus had raised $32,900 for the Breakfast Club of Canada through its fall rust protection program.

Between Sep. 1 and Oct. 31, 2021, UniglassPlus and VitroPlus locations across Canada donated $3 per rust protection treatment to the Breakfast Club of Canada, an non-profit organization that aims to combat food insecurity among children and youth with a national school food program.

Data from the Canadian Community Health Survey indicates that one in six Canadian children under 18 are affected by household food insecurity.

According to the Breakfast Club of Canada, business closures, unemployment and economic hardships due the pandemic increased the number of people experiencing food insecurity across the country.

“We are proud to be able to collaborate with committed partners like UniglassPlus and VitroPlus, who help support the Club’s mission through incredible initiatives such as this,” said Marie-Eve Desrochers, a senior advisor at the Breakfast Club of Canada. “Your contributions help children get access to the nourishment they need to succeed.”
