MSO Symposium highlights OEM paradigm shift at NACE Automechanika

A view of the 2016 MSO Symposium, this year's symposium promises to be even bigger.

By Barett Poley

Chicago, Illinois — June 6, 2017 — OEM leaders will show their support for the collision repair industry this year at NACE Automechanika. Industry leaders from Honda, GM, Mercedes Benz and Ford are coming together at the 2017 MSO Symposium to provide their insight on what they are doing to help shops repair the most technologically advanced vehicles.

NACE has combined forces with Automechanika Chicago, and this premier combined event is almost upon us. NACE Automechanika 2017 takes place July 26 to 29 at McCormick Place West in Chicago. Collision Repair magazine is the exclusive Canadian media partner for NACE Automechanika 2017.

This shift in the collision repair marketplace, driven by vehicle manufacturers, is in response both to the demands of the consumer and the government to manufacture more fuel efficient and safer vehicles. Today’s vehicles are more complicated to repair, and the call to repair them properly is more critical than ever. OEM Certification, training and equipment requirements, documented repair procedures and more are influencing not just how, but who, is best qualified to repair vehicles. This panel will look at what MSOs can do to succeed in this environment and what attempts, if any, OEMs are making to introduce standardization across the industry to lessen the burden on repairers:

• Gary LeDoux, Honda
• John Eck, GM
• Benito Cid, Mercedes Benz
• Mark Mandl, Ford
• Marcy Tieger, President, Symphony Advisors

This is just one of the many vital topics being covered at this year’s MSO Symposium, which is co-located with NACE Automechanika in Chicago and takes place on Wednesday, July 26th at the Hyatt Regency McCormick Place.

CARSTAR, Caliber Collision, LaMettry’s, Travelers, Branning, Fix Auto, Allstate, and leaders from many other MSOs, insurance companies, and large independent repair businesses are already registered for this year’s event. Make sure to register below to get a free Training Coupon Code!
