Toronto, Ontario — Canadian talent continues to make its mark on the auto industry as Stratford, Ont.’s Josh Dobson came away with second prize in the pinstriping category at FinishMaster’s Hoodmaster 2021 painting competition.
The Ontario-based product specialist for Axalta earned his spot near the top of the pile for his impressive “Frozen” pinstriped mini hood, featuring bold blue lines and an icy silver flake finish.
Dobson beat out more than 30 other painters from across the industry, all vying for a portion of the $20,000 prize money.
The decision was made on Oct. 15, when FinishMaster invited the painters and their families to a gallery-style night at the Bullseye Event Center in Indianapolis, Ind., in a celebration of both competition and community.
Proceeds from drink and raffle ticket sales at the event went toward an educational grant for a student collision repair program in need, through CREF (Collision Repair Education Foundation).
