Toronto, Ontario — As British Columbians rebuild after an onslaught of rain and flooding earlier this month, CARSTAR is lending a hand by donating $10,000 to the Canadian Red Cross’ flood relief efforts.
“Being a part of the community since 2013, we know how deeply rooted our franchise family is in their regions and we want to ensure we are offering our support in honour of our B.C. operators,” said CARSTAR Canada COO Jeff Labanovich.
“Our goal is to help individuals affected by these severe weather events in British Columbia, but of course we also want to extend our support to the entire community, because we know this has unfortunately affected everyone.”
According to CARSTAR’s press release, the money raised will allow the Red Cross to carry out relief, recovery, resiliency and risk reduction activities in areas impacted by floods and extreme weather.
“The Canadian Red Cross is providing urgent assistance to those in need following the recent flooding and extreme weather in British Columbia,” said v-p of emergency management at the Canadian Red Cross, Melanie Soler.
“We want to thank CARSTAR for their support as we work to assist those impacted as they begin to recover from these devastating floods.”
CARSTAR is also accepting donations from the public, on behalf of the Red Cross, through its British Columbia Floods and Extreme Weather Appeal.
