Daytona, Florida — The Plaid Panther pounced into the winner’s circle this past weekend at the Daytona International Speedway, securing Pfaff Motorsport’s first win in the 60th running of the Rolex 24 Hours at Daytona endurance race.

Powered by a plaid-painted Porsche 991.2 GT3 R, Team Pfaff pushed for victory all the way up until the final lap of the 24-hour-long race, when Porsche factory driver Mathieu Jaminet, alongside co-drivers Matt Campbell and Felipe Nasr, pulled ahead of the pack with only six turns remaining between him and the finish line.

The team battled through wet road conditions and managed on-the-fly driver swaps to earn themselves the first win of a two-part race series, set to continue in March with the 12 Hours of Sebring race.

“Obviously, this is something we will remember forever. This is why we do it,” said Steve Bortolotti, general manager of Pfaff Motorsports.

“We put this program together with the goal of success as a group. We win as a team; we lose as a team. We are going to make it a point to continue this legacy and build something great.”

The Rolex 24 Hours at Daytona kicked off at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 28 and carried on until Sunday.
