Toronto, Ontario — June 25, 2018 —Daimler, the world’s largest manufacturer of commercial vehicles, has selected Solace to provide the technology behind their “Mercedes me” app and associated services.

Daimler uses MQTT for communications to and from its vehicles and required a technology that could handle the complicated routing mandatory at the massive scale. Solace was the perfect choice to power MQTT, as its message broker technology is the only one capable of both collecting information from tens of millions of vehicles as well as sending vehicle-specific alerts and instructions to cars.

“We are excited that Daimler has selected Solace to help them extend their competitive advantage in the connected car space to seize the once-in-a-generation opportunity it represents,” said Les Rechan, CEO of Solace. “The ability to partner with one of the world’s best companies as they revolutionize something as far-reaching as what it means to drive a car is truly a watershed moment in the growth of our company.”

Daimler will be rolling out connected vehicles with Solace technology starting in the middle of 2018.
