Roch Hill, South Carolina — December 18, 2017 — SEM Products has announced the introduction of a new packaging for its fillers and glazes line, which it claims will help collision repairers reduce product waste.

The company’s Metal Bite Finishing Glaze, Bumper Bite Flexible Glaze and Carbo Fill Enriched Filler will now be delivered in soft-side pouches. “We are always looking for ways to improve efficiency and revenues for the collision centre,” said Nick Karayannis, Category Manager at SEM. “The new pouch packaging allows technicians to more easily and completely empty the contents, leaving virtually no product remaining in the pouch.”

SEM Products said the “robustly” designed foil-lined pouches will help mitigate leaching when stored near hardener products, something the company said is a “common problem” for polyesters in general.

Karayannis added: “Semi-rigid tubes and accordion style pumptainers tend to have 2.5 – 6 fl. oz. of waste per unit. That’s approximately 8 percent to 20 percent wasted product respectively. Adopting smarter packaging was a natural next step for these popular products.”
