Charges laid against shop’s co-owner in London fire

London, Ontario — May 3, 2017 — Charges have been laid against the co-owner of a bodyshop in London, Ontario, according to a statement from London Police Service. The charges stem from a fire that took place at Quality Auto Body & Collision in the early morning hours of April 18, 2017. The total damage from the fire was estimated at about $200,000.

A statement from London Police Service indicates that an initial inspection at the time of the fire determined that the blaze appeared to be suspicious, and the Ontario Fire Marshal was notified.

James Shaw, the shop’s co-owner, has been charged with arson and arson to own property endangering the property of others in connection with the fire.
