St. John’s, Newfoundland — April 19, 2017 — Terrance Paul and Robert Hulan have won gold medals in Car Painting and Autobody Repair respectively, at Newfoundland’s Provincial Skills competition. This year’s competition took place at the College of the North Atlantic’s Prince Philip Drive Campus in St. John’s.

Competitors are judged on the quality of their work and also on their use of time, safety precautions, clean-up, workmanship and professionalism. In short, the standards are very much like what they will encounter once they enter the workforce as painters and technicians.

“It is so inspiring to see the level of excellence with which the young people of our province perform in skilled trades and technologies,” says Carole Ann Ryan, Executive Director of Skills Canada Newfoundland and Labrador. “We are always so proud of Team Newfoundland and Labrador and we are sure this year will be no exception.”
