Abbotsford, British Columbia — March 24, 2016 — An alleged chop shop with over $100,000 worth of vehicles, parts and tools has recently been uncovered by the Abbotsford Police Department (APD) in British Columbia.

Police received a complaint earlier this week that $90,000 worth of property had been stolen overnight from a barn in the 33000 block of Townshipline Road. A 2007 F-550 truck – reportedly worth $40,000 – was stolen as well as $50,000 worth of tools.

The Abbotsford Police Department executed a search warrant at a property in the 4000-block of Tolmie Road. Police were accompanied by members of the Insurance Corporation of British Columbia’s Special Investigations Unit during the search. Police found evidence that a chop shop had been in operation at the location.

As reported by the Abbotsford News, Sgt. Judy Bird of the Abbotsford Police Department said the stolen truck chassis and tools were recovered, and at least seven dismantled vehicles were located during the search.
