Estimate Scrubbers: Building accurate estimates in Manitoba

Vancouver, British Columbia – A significant advancement for repair facilities in Manitoba is now allowing shops to improve estimate accuracy, streamline workflows and strengthen relationships between shops and public insurers.

The Automotive Trades Association’s Estimate Scrubber analyzes repair estimates in real time, identifying missed operations or discrepancies before estimates are submitted to insurers. By integrating Estimate Scrubber into Manitoba’s Realized Parts Savings tool, shops will benefit from more accurate estimates, fewer supplements, and a more efficient and accurate repair process.

“Manitoba is the only market that has RPS, a metric measured by the insurance company,” said Norm Bruneau, spokesperson for Estimate Scrubber. “ ImEX Systems has this tool specifically in Manitoba and the Estimate Scrubber also existed in Manitoba, so we thought, hey, let’s put it into one powerful tool.”

That idea allowed ImEX Systems and the ATA to partner and integrate the Estimate Scrubber into the RPS tool.

Bruneau said the ATA Estimate Scrubber was originally built by Manitoba repairers for Manitoba repairers to empower shops to catch missed opportunities and build estimates with confidence and consistency.

“The biggest thing we could see is that insurance companies have all kinds of processes in place. They have all kinds of rules on what you can and can’t ask for. As a shop owner myself, I felt… the more complicated (the rules) are, the less the odds shops are going to pay for it. We wanted to bring some consistency to the industry.”

The ATA’s involvement ensures that Estimate Scrubber remains aligned with provincial standards and insurer requirements, making the integration uniquely suited to Manitoba’s market.

“The ATA is committed to supporting its members through innovative tools and partnerships,” said Denis Cloutier, Executive Director of the ATA. “This collaboration with ImEX Systems and Estimate Scrubber is the next step in an evolving suite of software products designed to help members capture every opportunity from every claim.”

Along with Manitoba, Estimate Scrubber is also being used with public insurers in Saskatchewan and British Columbia. Efforts are currently underway to incorporate it into provinces that employ private insurers.

ImEX Systems Inc. based in Vancouver, is a Canadian provider of collision and repair management software. The ATA represents automotive professionals across Manitoba, advocating for industry standards, providing training, and supporting members with tools and partnerships that strengthen the repair industry and improve customer outcomes.
