Newmarket, Ontario — Summer may be winding down, but fundraising totals are rounding up for CARSTAR Newmarket, owned by Romena and Bisram Deokinandan.
In July, CARSTAR Newmarket hosted its fifth annual Soaps it Up event, a community car wash geared to raise awareness and funds to support research, advocacy and care for survivors of cystic fibrosis. Each year, the team at Newmarket continues to shine bright with their resilient efforts toward fundraising and uplifting their community.
In addition to the splashing good time offered by the car washes, beloved CARSTAR plushies were also sold to raise funds. The CARSTAR Newmarket team also treated guests to barbecue and provided a bouncy castle for kids.
The fun-filled event featured appearances from Bob Kwapis, Newmarket Ward 5 councillor, the Newmarket Police Department and the Central York Fire Department. After the bubbles were popped and the cars were shined clean, CARSTAR Newmarket is proud to have raised $2,000 that will directly benefit Cystic Fibrosis Canada.
“I am elated to have raised double the amount of last year’s efforts,” said Romena. “Our annual Soaps it Up event always fills the community with electrifying energy and this year the excitement made it feel like Christmas in July! We are ready to keep the momentum revved up for years to come.”
