Van stolen with baby inside

By CRM Staff

Toronto, Ontario — December 4, 2018 — A stolen van with a two-month-old baby inside was recovered at Italian Gardens in Toronto Sunday night.

At approximately 7:40 p.m. police responded to a call that a brown Toyota Sienna van had been stolen with an infant boy inside.

Const. David Hopkinson explained that an amber alert wasn’t immediately issued, as the incident wasn’t deemed an abduction, though police didn’t rule it out.

The vehicle and child were later found by a local resident on Cricklewood Road near Islington Avenue and Elmhurst Drive approximately two hours later. The child wasn’t injured and an investigation is ongoing.
