Toronto, Ontario — Snap-on subsidiary SUN has announced the newest version of its SUN Collision Repair Information software, which introduces wiring diagrams with exclusive features including interactivity that connects the diagrams directly to component information.
While viewing a wiring diagram, technicians can click on any component within the diagram to see a pop-up menu with selections to learn more about specifications, component location, connector views, guided component tests and other details.
SUN Collision Repair Information offers collision repair facilities a comprehensive source of repair information that covers all types of repairs, both collision and mechanical, and includes OEM and real-world industry information.
According to SUN, the development team believes this will increase the efficiency of technicians by allowing them access to component repair information within diagrams, rather than through secondary searches.
“The new interactive wiring diagrams give collision repair technicians the ability to access complete component information from inside the diagram, helping them work more efficiently,” said SUN’s market manager Nicholas Blais, market manager for SUN Collision. “It is another way we are helping technicians meet the challenge of diagnosing and repairing today.”
The new edition of the software also provides component names in diagrams and active links that connect directly to complete component information, and the ability to toggle wiring maps altogether, rather than individually.
This version of the software also presents users with several visual improvements, including a simplified view of complex diagrams.
