I-CAR’s winning entry, Mixed Attachment Methods, offers an in-shop, hands-on format focused on key OEM-referenced joining techniques such as rivet bonding, MAG welding, MIG brazing, steel sectioning, and spot welding. The program aims to strengthen technician proficiency in advanced attachment processes critical to safe, complete repairs.
"Mixed Attachment Methods reflects our ongoing commitment to advanced technical training that prepares the industry to repair complex vehicles completely and safely," said Thompson.
The course debuted at the 2025 SEMA Show, showcased through a visual demonstration of the curriculum’s application in real-world repair environments.
Initially launched as a pilot earlier this year, the course will officially roll out in early 2026, qualifying for Gold Class and Platinum structural technician renewal requirements.
