The 18th annual SABA toolbox competition

Toronto, Ontario – April 23, 2019 – Twenty young auto repair students gathered to Saskatchewan Polytechnic for the 18th annual SABA toolbox competition. 

The Sask. Polytech pre-employment students had two hours to repair, and cold fill a predetermined dent in a mock panel which was later judged upon the techniques used to finish each repair. 

The judges were members of the industry including, Novakoski Paint and Body’s Murray Wiedermeyer, Parr Autobody’s Gary Kotzer and Rob Keet from Speedy Collision in Saskatchewan. 

For this year’s competition the winner, Sam Olson received a “Jet” toolbox worth $2,300 and Breanna Ratt took home the second-place prize, a hammer dolly set from “Martin tools.”

The event was sponsored by Eric Knogler and Darryl Tomyn from Sutherland Automotive and Tom Bissonnette representing SABA.
