Tesla will be keeping stores open and increasing the prices of its vehicles

By CRM staff

Toronto, Ontario – March 12, 2019 –The announcement Tesla made last month, that it would be shutting down most of its stores to keep up with the affordable price tag on the new Model S, has been reverted.

Although the price of the new Model 3 will remain at $35,000, the electric vehicle company has decided to keep most of its stores open and raise the price of its other vehicles by three percent.

“Over the past two weeks we have been closely evaluating every single Tesla retail location, and we have decided to keep significantly more stores open than previously announced as we continue to evaluate them over the course of several months,” Tesla stated in a press release.

With keeping most of the stores open, Tesla announced that they are also raising the price of its more expensive variants of the Model 3, as well as Model S and X.

The three percent hike on its top-end cars is the first increase in prices since the series of job cuts were made over the past year.

According to the electric car maker, potential Tesla owners will have a week to place their order before prices rise, so current prices are valid until March 18.
