Toronto, Ontario -- Solera announced a slate of updates to its Qapter estimating platform during a seminar at the CARSTAR RISE conference in Toronto, unveiling tools aimed at improving workflow and user experience.
“Our product is constantly evolving due to feedback from users. We’ve made a lot of changes.
Our goal is to make it the best software estimating system out there,” said Bill Robb, professional services consultant at Solera.
One of the key enhancements allows users to make visual adjustments directly on uploaded photos. The platform includes colour inversion, drawing tools that leave the original image untouched, and the ability to download photos directly from the system.
In response to user feedback, Solera has also refined its Part Edit Slide Out Window (PESO). A new setting gives users the option to return to the previous version of the part edit window, bypassing the newer part edit slider interface.
Another new user setting allows shops to suppress “are you sure?” cost confirmation messages
when changing part replacements, eliminating extra steps for experienced users in the estimating process.
Qapter’s manual entries list has been expanded with a “copy to profile” feature. Users can select up to 10 categories and copy information across multiple profiles, helping to ensure
consistent messaging. If a copy attempt fails, the system immediately reports the reason. This feature must be set up through Solera IT, allowing shops to tailor access to specific users.
A feature often forgotten when creating vehicle valuation requests (Autosource) is the smart conditioning tool. This tool introduces a pre-set menu for frequently seen vehicle conditions.
Adjustments can be made automatically through selection or typed manually to avoid impacting vehicle status. All inputs are transferred to the notes section of the valuation report for clarity.
Finally, Solera has integrated database issue reporting into Qapter’s RFR process. Instead of calling in with missing vehicle, parts and labour details, the system now compiles the VIN, make and model into a PDF that you can send directly to the Audatex RFR team.
