Toronto, Ontario – September 12, 2018 — RX Autoworks took home the top prize of ‘best to show’ at this year’s Peabble beach Concord D’elegance, with their custom restored 1937 Alfa Romeo 8C.
“In the automotive world it’s like winning the Superbowl,” RX co-owner Mike Taylor said.
The North Vancouver restoration shop chose to restore the vehicle to its original 1937 date, when it first debuted at the Berlin car show.
“I feel like I’ve accomplished all my goals, like I’ve won the Olympics,” RX co-owner Ian Davey said.
Having been runner up three times, the best of show win was that much more special for the shop. The team of six men worked tediously stripping the car down to its nuts and bolts and analyzing over 100 different car colours to find the perfect formula.
“I’ve been with these guys for 20 years and every car we do is better than the one before it,” RX mechanic Rob Fram said.
