Rudolph the Red-Nosed Repairer: Collision repairers ramp up their Christmas campaigns

As the holidays are fast approaching, auto repair companies are kick-starting campaigns in hopes to keep their customers happy and safe this season. Here are the top three unique, heart-warming, and cheery Christmas campaigns by your favourite Canadian auto companies

SGI Sings for Safety:

If you like the Christmas songs, “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer” and “Walkin’ In a Winter Wonderland,” you’ll love SGI’s anti-DUI adaptations such as “Rudy the Red-Eyed Smoker” and “Walking Into Jail on Christmas Eve.”

This year, Saskatchewan Government Insurance has rewritten some Christmas classics to spread the message about the dangers of drunk driving during the holiday season, (and always).

“Since ’tis the season, we decided to get our message across using holiday music or impaired driving-themed versions of classic holiday songs,” stated Tyler McMurchy, Manager of Media Relations for SGI. “We wanted to get across the idea that all of us have someone who wants us to get home safely, and that’s why it’s so important to never drive impaired, to always drive sober, if you’re not going to be sober, to plan a safe ride home.”

They performed the songs live in the Cornwall Centre in Regina Sask. If you missed the performance, you can watch it here

The North (CAR)STAR:

Comox Valley’s collision centre, CARSTAR Courtnenay decided to help out this holiday season by donating more than $500 worth of food the local food bank.

According to CARSTAR Courtenay, its owner Ryan Isherwood is “no stranger to giving back.”

Isherwood and his team has annually raised funds for Cystic Fibrosis Canada and other local fundraisers. They have also been known to provide local veterans with a  free windshield treatment to make driving in the winter just a little bit easier.

“The only reason we can be in the position to make donations like this are because of all the hard work our employees put in every day, at both locations,” stated Isherwood.

“Supporting causes like the Comox Valley Food Bank are important to us because it helps us spread the joy during this cheery season and ensures it’s a happy holiday for everyone in the Comox Valley area.”

Raisin’ Cash for RMHC:

Stéphane Cirurso and Roberto Consenza, co-owners of Fix Auto Vaudreuil and Fix Auto Montreal West, are proud of their two facilities this holiday season as they accumulatively raised more than $17,000 for the Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) in Montreal.

After noticing the need for funding for families of sick children across Canada, the business partners had the idea to host a casino night, with all proceeds going towards the Ronald McDonald House Charities.

More than 100 community members showed up to participate, including friends and family from the Fix Network, Cirurso said he was overwhelmed by the turnout and funds raised.

“$17,321.40 raised in one night is outstanding,” Cirurso told Autosphere earlier this week. “RMHC is such an incredible organization and so dedicated to families during very difficult times. Our team is committed to giving back to our community and this was an amazing evening doing just that.”

The Ronald McDonald House provides a warm and comforting space for families whose child is being treated in a hospital nearby. The Fix Network has been raising funds for them for many years.
