Northamptonshire, England— A one-to-one scale Lego McLaren P1 recently successfully completed a lap of the Silverstone Grand Prix raceway, highlighting that when it comes to Lego, there really is room to “play your way.”
The Lego vehicle consists of 342,817 individual bricks, using 393 different brick shapes, including 11 made especially for the build. The exterior of the vehicle—as noted by Motor1–comprises of flexible pieces to help give the vehicle a more aerodynamic shape.
The vehicle is further powered by 768 Lego motors combined with eight motor packs. Alongside this, a car battery helps to give the vehicle enough range to make a lap of the track.
Driver Lando Norris admits to being nervous about getting into the vehicle, but still helmets up and hits the track.
