Toronto, Ontario – September 6, 2018 —Nissan Canada will be giving 70 high school football players the chance to play in front of a sold-out stadium ahead of this year’s Grey Cup in Edmonton, as a part of the Nissan Kickoff Project.
The car manufacturer is looking for candidates who demonstrate the TITAN vales of being tough, innovative, tenacious, ambitious and notable. Players nominated and selected would represent their schools as a part of the All-Canadian TITAN team.
“Sport nurtures strong values and exemplary leadership characteristics that athletes are able to carry forward into various aspects their own lives, and that of their communities,” said Steve Rhind, director of marketing, Nissan Canada.
“That is why Nissan is so proud to recognize outstanding young individuals who epitomize these traits, through the fifth season of the Nissan Kickoff Project. This year, we look forward to building on the impact the Nissan Kickoff Project has had across several Canadian communities over the past four years, by directly engaging even more Canadian athletes and families.”
Last year the Kickoff project donated over $52,000 to 16 high school programs across the country and provided students with funding to purchase equipment, uniforms and attend motivational events. The program has supported 43,000 students from 78 high schools since it first began back in 2013.
