Toronto, Ontario -- August 12, 2019 -- The Atlantic division of AIA is pleased to announce two exciting events hitting the coast of Canada later this month.
"[We are] hosting the events to bring together automotive service providers with industry experts," stated AIA earlier this month. "They will share their insights on how to “Cruise into the Future” with information on disruptive technologies, new government legislation, succession planning, new trends and more!"
The first event, hosted in the Shediac Hotel in Shediac NB, will be held on August 27 and will feature networking events, workshops, as well as a cruise on the Atlantic Ocean. The event kicks off at 9 a.m. and finishes at 4 p.m., just in time for the all-inclusive dinner.
For those who couldn't make it to the first conference, AIA is hosting a second event in Halifax NS on August 29. Attendees will have access to the same great networking opportunities and experience a beautiful cruise on the Atlantic while hearing from experts and leaders in the industry.
Featured speakers will be AIA's Andrew Shepherd, Louis-Phillipe Gauthier, the CFIB Director Provincial Affairs of NB & PEI, as well as Darren Hanscomb from the New Brunswick and Nova Scotian department of education.
Discussions will vary from the need to introduce skills trades to children at a young age to the automotive industry's effect on the aftermarket sector. And of course, the future of the industry,
“One of a trade association’s most important services is to look into the ‘crystal ball’ of the future," noted Shepherd, keynote speaker. "What opportunities and threats face our members over the medium and long term? Our research is now focused on the “CASE” scenario – the arrival of Connected, Autonomous, Shared and Electric vehicles. This is going to be a revolution, as important to the world as the arrival of mass-produced automobiles."
"What does this mean for the repair shop owner? What skills do your techs need? Do you have to hire different people? How will the supply chain change? What does your competitive landscape look like in the next few years? What can we do to get ready? These questions - and even a few answers - will be the subject of the session.”
Tickets for both events are on sale right now and can be found on AIA's site, aiacanada.com.
